Dental Crowns

A dental crown is a tooth-shaped "cap" that is placed by the dentist over a tooth to restore its shape, size, strength, and/or to improve its appearance. Crowns are highly durable and are used when a tooth has been fractured, has decayed or needs to be protected from external factors.

Crowns are also useful to hold a dental bridge in place and to cover a dental implant.

Crowns are excellent restorations, they are highly durable, affordable and multi-functional but they will eventually need to be replaced due to normal wear. Dental Crowns can help you improve the appearance and health of your teeth, and provide protection from future cracks or tooth decay.

There are different types of crowns: those made out of gold alloy, most durable and ideal for the back teeth; solid zirconia, a tooth colored alternative to gold for back teeth; all ceramic, recommended for front teeth; and porcelain fused over metal or zirconia, used for front or back teeth.
